Auks

A small to medium sized seabird with black and white plummage. Spends the majority of time on the sea where they are excellent swimmers. Their body shape, wings and feet allow them to be very agile underwater and they use this skill to dive for their diet of small fish, crustaceans and in the case of the Little Auk, plankton. Their flight is low and fast over the water but lacks manoeuvrability. Their stance is upright but their mobility on land appears somewhat clumsy. Manoeuvrability on land and in the air has been compromised in favour of increased proficiency underwater.
